Recently in the federal parliament the commonwealth admitted that cannabis prohibition was a mistake. At the same time the nations police forces seem to be in a state of disarray. With police men committing suicide and many reporting dissatisfaction with their leadership there would be one easy way to start wisely using the energy of the younger more open minded officers in the force. Start righting the wrongs the Australian police force have committed in the past.
There are many Australians, potentially some incarcerated and others with criminal records who’s lives have been impacted by a false war against Cannabis. By pardoning these people and removing any ‘criminal’ records that may effect their lives it will be a great way to begin righting the wrongs of the past and paving the way for a future of positivity. Also by making it clear to police forces that the war on Cannabis is over, it will help by redirecting the energy of the police forces energy toward activity that is more beneficial for society.
It seems like the Governments approach to cannabis reform has been to simply take the business for themselves, which makes it entirely evident that there is Gross criminality present in the system. How could the people who have prohibited Cannabis, turn around and enter the business. It is a disgrace, and it is time that they put some of their energy toward actually undoing some of the wrongs they have committed in the past.
